Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress best known for her performance in the films 'Beta',' 'Saajan,' and 'Hum Aapke Hai Koun'. ..!' Her career in the 1980s , and gained fame with her role in the film 'Tezaab' in which she appeared with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. She next appeared in the film 'Dil' which she co-starred with Aamir Khan. She was born in a Mumbai middle-class family and began dancing from a young age. She started acting as an infant and struggled for several years because most of her early films were failures. Then she found success and soon went on to be a leading actress in the Indian film industry. After her wedding she took a short time off from acting and then returned to the entertainment field. Dixit was also an integral character in the film "Gulaab Gang," that focused on the struggles of Indian women. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. She won eight. She was also presented with the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian honor. She is well-known for her work with the social sector as well.
