Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American actor-producer and stage actress has been known for her roles in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA from Brown University in African-American Studies. The Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue is an American actress, producer and director who has worked in both film and television. She began acting on stage and then appeared in mainstream, independent and TV series. She became famous as Miranda Shaw, a character who appeared on ABC's Quantico. In BET's amazing show The Book of Negroes she was a character. Not only did she get praise from critics for her role but did she also win a couple of awards and nominations. In 1995 she debuted as Ariel on stage on stage in The Tempest. Apart from Broadway's Come and Gone, she has also been featured in Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is highlighted by her performances in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her part as a regular in ABC's drama-police series High Incident earned her praises.
